Changing Lives: catch the latest consumer insight from the Future Foundation
The Future Foundation’s twice-yearly Changing Lives conference takes place on 3 July 2007 at Savoy Place, London. Changing Lives focuses on different aspects of consumer lives and consumer change. The UK conference will be held in the morning, looking at UK trends in Fun and Games in the 21st Century, while the European conference will take place in the afternoon, with the focus on meeting the needs of tomorrow’s shoppers.
The UK and European conferences are offered separately - attendance can be for the morning or afternoon, or both.
Changing Lives – a UK perspective Fun and Games in the 21st Century
This conference will present findings on the role of leisure, entertainment and all forms of ‘escape’ in the modern world and its ever-increasing reach into all aspects of consumer behaviour. What are people actually doing, how are the new technologies changing things, is life getting more trivial and superficial, are we actually happy? And, what does this mean for retailers, leisure operators, media companies, the hospitality sector, financial services, public bodies and others. Topics will include a brief history of time, the impact of technology, consumer happiness, the entertaining economy and a review of the future of Fun and Games.
Changing Lives – a pan-European perspective Meeting the needs of tomorrow’s shoppers
Our special focus for the European conference is shopping and retail. We will present analysis of our European Changing Lives research on ‘Meeting the needs of tomorrow’s shoppers’. Topics include: an update on prospects across Europe by country and by sector, along with details of our new consumer-focused European economics analysis; shopping all over the world, looking at brand loyalty, convenience, ethical shopping, use of internet channels and celebrity endorsement; trends in aspirations and needs among European consumers; and mapping the meaning of luxury.
