Changing Lives: the latest consumer insight from the Future Foundation

Future Foundation iconCan brands resolve the paradoxes and dilemmas facing the modern consumer-citizen – and still make margins/build pro-active loyalty?

1 February 2008, Olympia Conference Centre, London

The Future Foundation's latest twice-yearly Changing Lives conference will focus on the theme of paradox: those contradictions in the choices made by individuals and the debates about how we ought to live within society.

With the medium term in focus, we speculate on a multi-layered question:

• How is the consumer, with all his/her personal prospects in mind, to reconcile the drive for excitement with the attractions of stability?
• The appetite for luxury with the pressures for self-restraint?
• The desire to be self-consciously ethical with the itch for cheap deals and maximised convenience?
• The urge for immediate satisfaction with the values of saving, delay, control?
• The goal of accomplishment in all theatres of life with the objective of just getting through the day?

The conference presentations are derived from the results from our own proprietary research programme but combined with the best, most creative thinking about the marketplace trends for the private and public sectors. At the end of the conference you will have the opportunity to be involved in an interactive session to discuss the consequences and implications related to your business.
